#Beyoncé becomes the first Black woman to top Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart

Beyoncé has made Billboard chart history with her new song “Texas Hold ‘Em.” The single, which was released immediately after the Super Bowl earlier this month, has debuted at No.1 on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart this week, making her the first Black woman in history to do so. “16 Carriages,” which was released alongside “Texas Hold ‘Em,” debuted at No. 9.
The move to country has also made her the second solo female artist to debut at No. 1 on the same chart after Taylor Swift, who achieved the feat in 2021 with the re-recordings of “Love Story” and “All Too Well.”
Zooming out from the country chart a little, “Texas Hold ‘Em” debuted at No.2 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, one place behind “Lovin On Me” by Jack Harlow.
Both “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages” will appear on Beyoncé’s upcoming studio album, Act II, due for release on March 29.
