“AG Letitia James top aide Ibrahim Khan quits amid sex-harass complaints”

Attorney General Letitia James’ chief of staff has resigned after being slapped with multiple sexual harassment complaints, which were filed before Election Day and kept quiet as James cruised to victory, sources told The Post.

The allegations against Ibrahim Khan, 38, are now being reviewed by an “outside law firm” according to a source briefed on the matter. Sources told The Post the AG’s office hired the firm shortly after the complaints were received.

Two women filed sexual harassment complaints against Khan – and one of those women was told her claims of inappropriate touching and unwanted kissing were substantiated, according to The New York Times.

A source briefed on the matter told The Post the allegations were provided “indirectly” to the AG’s office and “none of the allegations involve current employees.”

The AG’s Office didn’t deny that sexual harassment complaints have been filed against Khan, but declined to answer questions seeking additional information earlier this week.

“The Office of Attorney General has protocols in place to thoroughly investigate any allegation of misconduct. The office takes these matters with the utmost seriousness and this situation is no different. An independent, impartial investigation was conducted, and the employee has since resigned,” said AG spokeswoman Delaney Kempner in a statement.

In a statement released Friday evening, Khan claimed he was already planning to leave his job and the decision had nothing to do with his resignation.

“After a successful four-year term, I’ve been slated to leave the office for the private sector at the end of this year. This is unrelated to an investigation which, nevertheless, found no official workplace misconduct. I’m proud of all we have achieved over these past four years in serving New Yorkers,” he told The Post.

It’s unclear who filed the complaints, but the source described Khan as being “in deep s–t.”

The source also said that ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo — who in September filed an ethics complaint against James over her sexual harassment probe that forced him from office last year — “would have had a field day with this” if he’d known about it.

“They really tried to keep this under wraps before the election,” the source said.

James, a Democrat, refused to debate her little-known and underfunded Republican opponent, Manhattan lawyer Michael Henry, during the runup to the Nov. 8 election, making her the only statewide elected official to do so.

James went on to easily beat Henry, 52.4%-46.7%, to win a second term as the state’s top law enforcement official.

No one answered the door Wednesday morning at Khan’s family home in Queens, where the lights were on inside and a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee was parked in the driveway.

Khan is the married father of at least one young child, according to a source who knows him. He was paid $202,827 in taxpayer funds during fiscal 2021, according to the SeeThroughNY website.

Khan has worked for James since serving as a top adviser during her first, winning campaign for New York City public advocate in 2013, after which she named him her chief of staff and first deputy public advocate.

In 2018, Khan was James’ campaign manager during her successful, first run for AG and he’s served as her chief of staff since she was sworn in.

His earlier jobs include work as a regional field organizer for Hillary Clinton’s failed 2008 presidential campaign; as deputy chief of staff for then-state Sen. Adriano Espaillat; and as a political and government-affairs consultant.
