#Overlord Season 4 to Premiere in 2022, 1st Trailer and Visual Released

The world of Overlord will be transported once again to TV screens next year as the official Twitter account confirmed today that the previously announced fourth season will premiere in Japan in 2022. The first trailer for the continuing adaptation of Kugane Maruyama‘s light novel was also released as well as a new visual, and details on a brand new game for the franchise.

But that’s not all, the fictional game will also be transported into a real-life game, with the series announcing that Overlord will be made into a “2D action game” centered around getting out of the underground tombs of Nazarick. Titled OVERLORD -ESCAPE FROM NAZARICK-, the game will be released on the Nintendo Switch and on PC via Steam and will focus on Clementine in an original story by light novel author Kugane Maruyama. No date has been confirmed for the game as of yet.

The cast return from the first three seasons of Overlord for the fourth TV anime, with the staff from Overlord III returning for Overlord IV at Studio Madhouse. The TV anime series is a continuation of the third season. A film based on the “Holy Kingdom Arc” is also in production. The third season of the Overlord TV anime premiered in July 2018 and ran until October 2018, with the fourth scheduled for some point in 2022.
