#86 Anime Gets New PV, Release Date, Key Visual

86‘s staff includes Toshimasa Ishii (storyboarder on Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia and Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld) as director, Toshiya Ouno (The Promised Neverland, Land of the Lustrous) as series composer, and Tetsuya Kawakami (Interviews With Monster Girls, The Asterisk War) as character designer. 

Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Tttan, Mobile Suit Gundam UC) and Kohta Yamamoto (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments) are composing the music for the anime. A-1 Pictures is in charge of animation production. 

Voicing the lead characters are Shouya Chiba (Project Scard: Scar on the Praeter, Dororo) as Shin and Ikumi Hasegawa (Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki, If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It To The Budokan, I Would Die) as Reina. 

86 is based on a light novel series written by Asato Asato and illustrated by Shirabi, with Ⅰ-Ⅳ responsible for the mechanical designs. Yen Press describes the story as:

The Republic of San Magnolia has long been under attack from the neighboring Giadian Empire’s army of unmanned drones known as the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic finally developed autonomous drones of their own, turning the one-sided struggle into a war without casualties-or at least, that’s what the government claims.
