#3DCG Modeler Renders Iconic Nausicaä Scenes for VR Formats

A 3DCG rendering by Granicoph recreating a famous scene from the 1984 theatrical anime film, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, featuring a Nausicaa collecting a spore sample from a fungus in the Toxic Jungle.

Tokyo-based 3DCG artist / character modeler Granicoph has used 3DCG rendering to re-create two iconic scenes from Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, the classic 1984 pre-Studio Ghibli / Hayao Miyazaki anime theatrical film, and has published these scenes to Sketchfab, a platform which specializes in artwork designed to be experienced in augmented reality or virtual reality environments.

The most recent rendering (above) re-creates the famous scene where Princess Nausicaä collects a spore sample while exploring the Toxic Jungle environment. Earlier, in March of 2020, Granicoph published a rendering (below) that re-creates a scene of Princess Nausicaä riding her glider above the sand dunes. Since both scenes are rendered in 3DCG, viewers can zoom in and out and rotate the images to experience the artwork from any angle.
