ZOIDS, Takara-Tomy’s popular series of robot animal model kits, is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, and now it appears that a new project is in the works with a release date scheduled for spring. The project was announced via a Tweet on the official ZOIDS Twitter account (below).

Although the nature of new project has not yet been confirmed to be an anime adaptation, the references to Planet Zi, the phrase “He’s coming back…” (possibly referring to Van Flyheight, the protagonist of Zoids: Chaotic Century), and the usage of footage from the ZOIDS TV anime leads some fans to speculate that a new anime may be in the works. At the moment, we’ll just have to wait and see…
