#Yozakura Family Airs for 2 Consecutive Cours, Adds 4 New Cast Members
The upcoming spy romantic comedy series Mission: Yozakura Family is slated to air for two consecutive cours, starting on April 7, 2024 in Japan. Four new voice cast members have also been added to the TV anime series’ cast.
The new voice cast members joining the anime adaptation includes:
- • Mariya Ise as Ayaka Kirisaki
- • Romi Park as Rin Fudo
- • Koki Uchiyama as Sui Aoi
- • Daiki Hamano as Oga Inugami
They join a main cast that stars:
- • Reiji Kawashima as Taiyo Asano
- • Kaede Hondo as Mutsumi Yozakura
- • Katsuyuki Konishi as Kyoichiro Yozakura
- • Akari Kito as Futaba Yozakura
- • Kazuyuki Okitsu as Shinzou Yozakura
- • Aoi Yuuki as Shion Yozakura
- • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kengo Yozakura and Goriate
- • Yumi Uchiyama as Nao Yozakura
Mirai Minato (director of Masamune-kun’s Revenge, The Dungeon of Black Company, Sasaki and Peeps) is directing the anime and writing the screenplay, with Mizuki Takahashi (Kizuna no Allele co-chief animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, and Sus4’s Koji Fujimoto (Ragna Crimson) and Osamu Sasaki (Ragna Crimson) as music composers. SILVER LINK is the animation production company for the series.
The anime series is based on the action-comedy manga series by Hitsuji Gondaira, which was first launched in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on August 26, 2019. Twenty-two tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2024, with a 23rd volume due out on April 4, 2024.
VIZ Media releases the Mission: Yozakura Family manga in English, describing the synopsis as:
Taiyo Asano is a super-shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend Mutsumi Yozakura. However, Mutsumi comes from a line of master spies with amazing powers. Her oldest brother, Kyoichiro, is obsessed with Mutsumi and out to kill anyone who gets remotely near her—and his next target is Taiyo! The only way for Taiyo to save himself from Kyoichiro’s murderous clutches is to marry Mutsumi!
