“#You Can Search Through a User’s Tweets on Twitter for iPhone”

Twitter has quietly added a new feature that lets you go to a person’s profile and search all of their tweets for any specific word or phrase. This could be pretty useful for deciding whether you want to follow someone.
When you click on someone’s profile on the Twitter iPhone app, you’ll notice a small magnifying glass overlaying their cover photo. If you click on that, you can type whatever you want into the search box to see if the person has ever tweeted a certain search term, regardless of what that term may be.
XDA-Developers first noticed that the feature has rolled out to all users, and I’ve checked on my Twitter app, and the new search function is there.
It’s important to note that this isn’t technically a new feature for Twitter. You’ve always been able to search a user’s tweets by typing “from:[Twitter handle] [search term]” into Twitter’s main search box. The big difference is that many people don’t realize that functionality exists, and the new search icon on the profile puts it front and center.
It’ll be interesting to see if the prominence of the search feature leads to a new crop of people being fired over things they’ve tweeted in the past. Sure, dedicated Twitter users likely knew about the option to search old tweets for some time, but now more people will know it’s there, and they’ll be able to dig up past tweets more easily.
