“#To Love Ru Illustrator's Hatsune Miku Goes 3D as a Technomagical Figure”
Back in 2018, To Love Ru illustrator Kentaro Yabuki put his spin on virtual idol Hatsune Miku. Now, she's been reimagined in 3D as a figure from Max Factory and Good Smile!
The design was part of a collaboration between Honda and Dwango for their osoba smartphone app, which features Miku interacting with the driver vocally based on how the car is moving. Yabuki's cute, futuristic design was used to promote the launch of the app:
The 1/7-scale figure stands on a pink smartphone base with technomagic accents. Standing 250mm tall, she's been recreated with carefully painted translucent parts to mimic Yabuki's artwork:
Pre-orders are now open for the figure, which is priced at ¥18,182 (about $173) before tax. Pre-orders close on November 26, and orders will ship out in December 2021.
