#XGIMI’s New Horizon Projectors Can Detect Your Screen And Keystone Automatically – Review Geek

Projectors are a great way to get a big screen in your living room without buying a ginormous (and expensive) TV. But it’s also a pain to adjust them to fill your screen (or wall) just right and get a perfect rectangle. XGIMI’s new 1080p and 4K Horizon projectors can do that work automatically.

XGIMI says it trained its artificial intelligence (ai) program with thousands of scenes and hundreds of screen settings to automatically detect your screen and any obstacles in the way, then adjust to fit for you. The company says even if you put one of its Horizon projectors on its side, it will still fill the screen from edge to edge. XGIMI took things a step further and promises that the projector can keep an image in focus even if the projector is moving.

The Horizon series projectors can manage up to a 300-inch image with a brightness of 2200 ANSI lumens and a 1.2:1 throw ratio. The projectors are smart, too, with Android TV 10.0 built-in out of the box, which gives them access to over 5,000 apps, including most streaming services. The Horizon projectors promise a smooth image with 120Hz “motion compensation technology,” but that may be “motion smoothing” you’d want to turn off.

If you’d rather not have to hook up a separate speaker system, the projectors have you covered thanks to built-in Harmon Kardon 16W Bluetooth speakers. It likely won’t replace a full 7.1 surround system, but Harmon Kardon knows how to make excellent speakers, so it should do well for many settings.

Projectors can be slow to turn on, but XGIMI promises the Horizon projectors will boot up in four seconds. It should last, too, thanks to LEDs with a promised lifespan of 30,000 hours. The Horizon series comes in two models. The Horizon will cost $1,099 and can manage a 1080p image. The Horizon Pro will cost $1,699 and can put out a “true” 4K image. Both projectors will go on sale on May 10th, with pre-orders opening up on April 19th at the XGIMI site.
