“X (Cross) Anime Project to Hold Its Theme Song Singer Audition”

CHET Group, a Tokyo-based IP development company, and Sony Music Labels’ creator platform MECRE has launched a joint project “X (Cross) Beyond – The World in 5055,” including a TV anime in which Internet creators play a key role.

The TV anime, entitled X(Cross) Anime, has already been decided to be aired on CBC TV and streamed on Lopico. It will be based on illustrations by popular illustrator Sun Yotsuda, known for Kujira’s “Kinmokusei” music video featuring Ado (singing voice of Uta in One Piece film: Red), and stories by the ideas submitted to monogatary.com. Thomas Bangert (Ruth’s Great Escape, Addison Lane, Ashley Jones Is Perfectly Normal) serves as creative supervisor.

An open audition to find a singer who will sing the anime’s theme song begins today on September 8. The winner will participate in the recording of the theme song to be released by Sony Music Labels. In addition, a music video by Sun Yotsuda will be produced and a cover song mini-album will be released digitally worldwide.

Entry period for Block A is from September 8 to 20, and that for Block B from September 21 to October 5. Semifinals will run from October 26 to November 9, and the finals from November 12 to 26. The tagline is “Your song will change the world!”
