Wu-Tang Clan released its coveted double album Wu-Tang Is Forever in 1997. To commemorate its 25th anniversary, Get On Down and Legacy Recordings (the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment) have released an anniversary collection that includes the original album, a lyric booklet, silver colored 7-inch single of “Triumph” (with “Heaterz” on the B-Side) in a picture sleeve and reissue of the double cassette in a slip case.

In addition, the group will deliver a set of three digital EPs – Reunited: The Remixes, It’s Yourz and Triumph – featuring previously out of print Forever-era remixes, edits, instrumentals and unarchived original single cover art. They are currently available on all digital streaming platforms.

Method Man, RZA, GZA, Cappadonna, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa, U-God, Raekwon and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard exploded on the New York City Hip Hop scene in 1993 with Enter The Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, an album that quickly put them on the map. Their sophomore album, the aforementioned Wu-Tang Is Forever, would arrive four years later with now-classics such as “Triumph” and “It’s Yourz.”

The project debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with over 612,000 copies sold in its first week. Just four months after its release, Forever was certified 4x-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has gone on to sell over 2 million copies in the United States, making it the Wu’s highest selling album to date. It also earned the group a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album at the 40th Annual Grammy Awards.

Wu-Tang Clan and Nas are hitting the road together later this year as part of the N.Y. State of Mind Tour. Named after Nas’ classic Illmatic track, the 25-city trek kicks off in St. Louis, Missouri on August 30 and wraps up in Los Angeles, California on October 4, with stops in cities such as Toronto, Atlanta and Houston. New Yorkers are out of luck, though. So far, there aren’t any dates booked in the Big Apple, although there are two stops in nearby New Jersey — one at the Waterfront Music Pavilion in Camden on September 8 and another at Newark’s Prudential Center on September 13.
