Toei Animation recently announced the next series in the Pretty Cure franchise: Wonderful Precure. It will begin airing in Japan on February 4.

The currently revealed cast members are Maria Naganawa as Cure Wonderful/Komugi Inukai and Atsumi Tanezaki as Cure Friendly/Iroha Inukai. Komugi is the pet dog (literal) of Iroha, an animal-loving second-year middle schooler. The other two Cures are Cure Nyami and Cure Lillian.

The staff of Wonderful Precure includes Satou Masanori (Butt Detective 2018 Episode 53 onwards) as series director, Yoshimi Narita (Power of Hope ~Precure Full Bloom~) as series composer, Youko Uchida (Rurouni Kenshin 2023 co-character designer) as character designer, NaSka as costume and prop designer, and Erika Fukasawa (Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure) as music composer.

The previous Pretty Cure series was 2023’s Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure, which premiered in February of that year and is available on Crunchyroll. The magical girl franchise started in 2004 with Futari wa Precure (Pretty Cure in English). The Precure All-Stars F crossover film was released in Japan on September 15, 2023 as one of its 20th anniversary titles.
