Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World

A full remake of classic Mega Drive platform adventure game Monster World IV was announced back in August of 2020 as Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World, and now we have a release window to look forward to. In Japan it's set to launch on PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam on April 22, with a western release to follow in Q2 2021

The Monster World IV remake is in the hands of publisher G Choice and developer Studio Artdink, and there will also be physical editions available for the console versions. New features include character voices, remastered 2.5D graphics, new animated cutscenes, remastered game sounds and music, and an additional easy mode.

Development is being led by original Wonder Boy series creator Ryuichi Nishizawa, who is working on the remake along with members of the classic team that include composer Shinichi Sakamoto, character designer Maki Ozora, and creative manager Takanori Kurihara.

For those who prefer the classic style, all physical editions will include the original Monster World IV on the Switch cartridge and as an exclusive download with the PS4 disc version.
