#WIT STUDIO Releases New Stop Motion Anime

WIT STUDIO, the company that’s perhaps best known for producing the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, has released a new “stop motion anime PV” called Candy Caries. 

Markedly distinct from the studio’s usual 2D animation projects, Candy Caries is directed by Tomoki Misato (Pui Pui Molcar), a Musashino Art University graduate who is no stranger to stop motion. Other credited staff include Kenta Yamada (The Girl from the Other Side 2019 line producer) as animation producer, Masaaki Tanaka (Attack on Titan: Season 3 animation director) as 2D animator, and YUTAKA YAMADA (Great Pretender) as music composer. 

A tweet from WIT STUDIO indicates that the video is produced by a new sub-studio dedicated to stop motion, with Animate Times writing that the company’s stop motion line began in December 2020. WIT STUDIO previously opened a subsidiary in Ibaraki several years ago.
