If you’re not the kind of person who enjoys a bumpy ride when you boot up your computer, you may want to think about switching from the Dev and beta channels of the Windows Insider Preview.

Microsoft sent an email to users on the Dev channel (as reported by HTNovo) saying that the company intends to push some builds that don’t represent what consumers will receive with Windows 11 when it officially releases. In other words, these are going to be some rather buggy builds that won’t be too enjoyable to use.

The company recommends users switch from the Dev to the beta channel if they aren’t prepared to deal with the instability. Fortunately, the process of switching from the Dev to the beta channel is painless, so you can do it without issue.

We’ll have to wait and see just how buggy these builds are, but if Microsoft is actually sending out a warning about them, we’re expecting some pretty rocky roads.

Of course, if you want to keep your PC running with as much stability as possible, you might want to think about going back to Windows 10 until Windows 11 officially launches. Of course, you’ll miss out on the cool new features Windows 11 brings to the table, but at least you won’t have to deal with bugs all over the place.
