The clip posted on Instagram shows the SUV mowing down a street sign and mounting the curb before it barrels toward the Coolkicks store on Melrose Avenue. The vehicle, which cops said was carjacked in Venice the night before, crashes into the glass storefront as bystanders look on, ABC 7 in Los Angeles reported.
It then reverses and takes off down the street, with the front bumper hanging off.
The car was later found abandoned a few blocks away, the network said. No items were taken after the crash.
Coolkicks was targeted by looters in May during riots that broke out in the city following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
The crash happened amid protests in southern LA sparked by the fatal shooting of Dijon Kizzee, who was black and shot dead by LA County sheriff’s deputies in the neighborhood of Westmont.
More than 100 protesters marched to the sheriff’s department on Imperial Highway after midnight, the LA Times reported.
