“#Why Carson Wentz may miss the birth of his second child”
There’s a possibility Carson Wentz may have to wait a little while longer to meet his baby-to-be.
The Colts quarterback confirmed Wednesday to reporters that he will play in Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, even though wife Madison is expected to give birth to the couple’s second child at any moment.

“I could get the call at any point here,” Wentz said Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Star.
Wentz also noted that he and his wife of three years have already discussed his decision to play. And with kickoff slated for 1 p.m. in Indianapolis, Wentz can jet to the hospital post-game, should Madison be in labor.
“If it comes down to the game, I told my wife ‘I’m playing, and then I’ll come see you at the hospital afterwards,’” Wentz said. “She knew that. She’s been great. … I think God will time it up the way it’s supposed to be timed.”

Wentz and Madison revealed in July that they were expecting a baby girl. The couple announced the birth of their first child, daughter Hadley Jayne, in April 2020.
The past year has turned out to be a memorable one for Wentz. In February, the Eagles traded the former first-round pick to the Colts, where he reunited with coach Frank Reich, who previously served as the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia.
Although Wentz’s first year in Indianapolis has been something of a rollercoaster, he shined in last week’s win against the Jets, completing 22 of 30 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns. The Colts are currently in second place in the AFC South with a 4-5 record.
