#Why Baker Mayfield, wife Emily celebrated on Patrick Mahomes’ contract day

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ front office may not have been the only ones sipping Dom Perignon on Monday.

Taking to Instagram, Baker Mayfield’s wife Emily commemorated the couple’s first wedding anniversary with a mini photo gallery.

“You are everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more!” Emily began. “Looking back on the last year, we’ve laughed, we’ve cried, and we’ve learned a ton. Cheers to a million more years of endless laughter, sleepy pillow talks, late night dancing, and questionable golf games.”

She continued, “Thanks for being the best husband! I love you! ♥️?happy first anniversary!”

Mayfield, 25, also gushed about his “lovely wife” in a separate post.

“Happy 1st Anniversary to my lovely wife @emilywmayfield,” the Browns quarterback penned. “Throughout all the ups and downs…. you are always there to support me and I am so grateful for that, and to be a part of your life. Can’t wait to laugh and dance with you on this adventure for all the years to come!”

Mayfield and Emily tied the knot last summer at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu.

“I’m from Nebraska and Baker is from Texas, so we both really love the outdoors,” Emily previously told Brides. “Calamigos was the only venue we looked at because it reminded us of home. It was so romantic, and didn’t feel stuffy or over-the-top.”

Mayfield is entering a critical third year in Cleveland under new head coach Kevin Stefanski. The quarterback’s sophomore season with the Browns was marred with personal and professional turmoil, with coach Freddie Kitchens getting axed after one year.
