#Who is Fabian Marta? | ‘Sound of Freedom’ movie crowd funder arrested for alleged child kidnapping

Oh boy, how ironic things have turned for the 2023 drama thriller Sound of Freedom. Reports have surfaced on the internet that one of the movie’s crowdfunders named Fabian Marta was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a child. While the movie tackles the very sensitive topic of child trafficking, we’re out here being informed that one of the people behind the movie is responsible for the very crime they were fighting for. Who is Fabian Marta?

Fabian Marta is a 51-year-old man from Chesterfield City, St. Louis, Missouri. Marta, who is one of the thousands of people who invested in the Sound of Freedom movie, was charged and arrested for a First Degree kidnapping. According to the official website of Missouri Courts, Marta was arrested for allegedly “removing a non-family member below the age of 14 without their parent’s consent”.

According to reports, the accused was charged on July 21 and was later arrested two days later on July 23. Less than 24 hours after being booked by the authorities, Barta would be released without paying the required bail of $15,000 due to personal recognizance, a written promise honored by the court stating that the defendant will appear to the said court if required to do so. According to Newsweek, Barta will plead “no guilty”. His next court appearance is scheduled on August 28. On the other hand, if found guilty, Fabian Marta may face up to 10 years in jail. Right now, we aren’t sure of the real nature of his kidnapping case.

As mentioned, Fabian Barta was one of the crowd funders in the controversial drama thriller movie Sound of Freedom. A total of 6,678 people invested an average amount of $501. If stayed through the film, you will see “Fabian Marta & Family” in the last rolling minutes of the movie’s end credits. It was assumed that these investors can earn 20% from the amount they funded.

Hollywood has never seen credits like these. Over 6600 Angel investors in Sound of Freedom P&A will be getting a return on their investment soon.

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Fabian Marta expressed his pride in being a part of Sound of Freedom as an investor

Marta posted on Facebook about his participation in Sound of Freedom. The post says: “The Sound of Freedom movie tackles a very tough subject, and took an extraordinary effort to bring it to movie theaters. I’m proud to have been a small part of it. If you see the movie look for “Fabian Marta and Family” and the very end of the credits”. Ironically, that post did not age very well.

Marta even added that “Disney attempted to bury” the movie after being rejected many times. Many production companies didn’t take Sound of Freedom, not until Angel Studios took it under its wings and released it on July 4, 2023. Surprisingly enough, the movie was a huge box office hit, earning about $155 million in theaters.

Since I keep getting asked about Fabian Marta’s Facebook account being down, it isn’t. He just made it private after all the attention I’ve given him.
