When the Giants take the field against the Chargers in Week 14 of the 2021 NFL season, there could be a new quarterback under center.
Jake Fromm, a 2020 fifth-round draft pick of the Bills out of Georgia, was signed by the Giants in November 2021 after starting quarterback Daniel Jones was sidelined with a neck injury. After backup quarterback Mike Glennon suffered a concussion in a Week 13 loss to the Dolphins in December 2021, Fromm was thrust into the spotlight.
“Every single one of them lit up and said, ‘We’d absolutely love to have that guy on the team,’” Giants coach Joe Judge said of Fromm. “He has a lot of intangibles you would hear someone say at a banquet about him.”
Beyond the second-year head coach, Fromm has other major supporters in his corner, including wife Caroline Ostman, whom he married in July 2021.
“You are the most steady, strong and joyful man I know. It is THE greatest honor to be your wife,” Ostman posted on Instagram following the nuptials. “7.2.2021 was the greatest day of my life.”

Fromm and Ostman are college sweethearts
Fromm and Ostman first met in the spring of 2017 at the University of Georgia, according to the couple’s wedding page. Much like Fromm, Ostman was also a college athlete and played on the school’s volleyball team.
The couple announced their engagement in March 2021.
“I can’t remember what I said, but I do know this; I love you with all my heart and want to spend everyday with you by my side. I’m so thankful God put you in my life. Thank you for making me strive to seek Him everyday, helping me become a better man, and of course saying ‘Yes.’ Can’t wait to do life together,” Fromm shared on Instagram at the time.
Ostman celebrated Fromm’s ‘Welcome to the NFL’ moment
With the 167th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Bills selected Fromm in the fifth round. Following the career milestone, Ostman took to social media to sing the quarterback’s praises.
“Praise God, from whom all blessings flow,” Ostman began in April 2020 on Instagram. “So proud of this man and all the work he has done to make his dreams come true. I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for him in this next chapter! Congratulations babe💙❤️ [He was being sweet and blocking the wind for me in this pic… I think there will be a little more of that in the future 😉❄️] #GoBills.”
In June 2020, however, Fromm came under fire following a leaked 2019 text message in which the quarterback said only “elite white people” should be able to purchase guns. He then apologized publicly.

In October 2021, Ostman shared a collection of images from her and Fromm’s past holidays together, including their Neverland-inspired get-ups.
“‘There it is, Wendy! Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning,’” Fromm wrote on Instagram in the fall of 2021, when he dressed up as Peter Pan while Ostman channeled Wendy.
The pair received plenty of love on social media from the Buffalo community, notably Hillary Trubisky, the wife of backup Bills quarterback Mitch Trubsisky. The mom-to-be posted emoji hearts on both Fromm and Ostman’s posts.
