So let’s talk about which of these new transformations would have the upper hand in combat, Ultra Ego or Ultra Instinct.

First, let’s break down what each of these forms are:

Ultra Instinct

Ultra Instinct is an ultimate technique that separates the consciousness from the body, allowing it to move and fight independently of a martial artist’s thoughts and emotions. It is an extraordinarily difficult technique to master, even for the Hakaishin.

Ultra Ego

This state is attained by one who has received God of Destruction training and has gained the ability to use the powers of one. However, the state can only be utilized when the user is in the right mindset to act as a Destroyer. A user of this state gains the power of destruction.

Breakdown

“Ultra Ego form utilizes and enhances a Saiyan’s innate ability to improve through battle. Whereas Ultra Instinct allows a Saiyan’s ability to anticipate, dodge, and counterattack to increase sharply in efficiency and power as he continues to fight an equally or even more powerful opponent, Ultra Ego allows the Saiyan greater overall strength when their lust for battle increases and they take more damage.” Well according to the Dragon Ball wiki anyways.

Now, who would win in a fight? Honestly, it’s a genuine stalemate, and here’s why! With Ultra Instinct, logic would dictate if you can’t hit your opponent, you can’t win a fight. And given that Ultra Instinct can be applied to all his form in theory, it is on paper the superior form. However now with Vegeta’s Ultra Ego being one that takes advantage of both the Hakai power and a Saiyan’s ability to grow stronger while been while being hit, taking him down won’t be easy. On top of that Vegeta could stack Ultra Ego with Forced Spirit Fission, a technique that can be used from a distance or can be used on an opponent by hitting them with physical blows. Which makes him a damm near rival to Goku!

At this point, it’s a matter of time and who you want to win, the more Goku hits Vegeta the more he’ll make Vegeta stronger thanks to Ultra Ego, and if Vegeta finds a way to apply Forced Spirit Fissure as well, it’s GG! So a quick KO will have to happen for Goku to win. Ultra Instinct may be an Angels’ power in origin, which has been shown to be more powerful than a destroyer’s power but both Goku and Vegeta are Saiyan, aka mortals so that makes a massive difference in my opinion.
