#President Trump rips Biden VP pick Kamala Harris

President Trump said Tuesday he was “surprised” that Democratic presidential foe Joe Biden picked Kamala Harris for his running mate — ripping her as a lying, “nasty” pro-tax pol who was near the bottom of primary-race polls.

“She was my No. 1 draft pick,” Trump told reporters at a White House press conference when asked how he felt about Harris’ selection.

“I was surprised” that Biden picked her “because she did so poorly” in the primary race,” Trump said.

The president also blasted the California senator for being “extraordinarily nasty” to US Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate confirmation hearings — and said no one is safe from her viciousness, even Biden.

“I thought she was the meanest, most horrible, most disrespectful of anyone in the Senate,” he said, referring to Kavanaugh’s hearings.

“It was just a horrible thing the way she treated now-Justice Kavanaugh, and I won’t forget that soon.”

As for Harris’s treatment of Biden while they were fighting for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, Trump added, “She was probably nastier than Pocahontas to Joe Biden.”

“Pocahontas” is the nickname Trump gave for former Democratic presidential contender and US Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, who has boasted she is part Native American, even though she has been unable to prove it to any substantial degree.

“[Harris] was very, very nasty…. to Joe Biden. She was very disrespectful to Joe Biden,” Trump said. “She said things during the debates… that were horrible about ‘Sleepy Joe,’ and I would think he wouldn’t have picked [her].”

Still, “I think Joe knows even less than she does,” Trump said of Harris.

Asked about Harris’s famous claim that she smoked pot in college while listening to Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg — even though the rappers didn’t put out their music till years later — the president said, “She lied, she said things that were untrue.

“She’s very big into raising taxes. … She is against fracking,” he added. “She’s in favor of socialized medicine.”

Trump spent the first part of the press conference decrying violent anti-police, anti-racism protests continuing to rage in “Democratic cities” across the nation — calling the rallies “really the Democratic road map for America.”
