#Hyaku-man Dollar no Michishirube Unveils IMAX & 4DX Visuals, Screens in Over 500 Japanese Cinemas

The official website for the upcoming Detective Conan: Hyaku-man Dollar no Michishirube TV anime series has unveiled special IMAX and MX4D/4DX visuals ahead of its premiere. The 27th overall film is scheduled to screen in 515 Japanese cinemas on April 12, 2024, which marks the largest number of theater screenings in the history of the Detective Conan film series.

The two key visuals showcase the film’s three central characters: Conan Edogawa, Heiji Hattori, and Kaito Kid. 

Chika Nagaoka (Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet) is directing the anime film, with Takahiro Ookura (Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween) as scriptwriter, and Yuugo Kanno (Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine) as music composer. TMS Entertainment is handling the animation production.  

The original Detective Conan manga by Goushou Aoyama was first serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday on January 5, 1994. A total of 104 tankoubon volumes have been released as of October 2023. Viz Media releases the series in English under the title Case Closed

The long-running TV anime adaptation from TMS Entertainment began broadcasting in 1996, with the first anime film premiering in 1997.

The 2023 Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine anime film is the franchise’s top-grossing entry in the series, with an all-time rank of 18th on the Japanese box office chart.

Detective Conan: Hyaku-man Dollar no Michishirube follows Conan, Heiji, and Kaito Kid, who are involved in a plot concerning a katana that is hiding a “truth.” All three are embroiled in a decisive scramble for an elusive treasure.
