Preparing for the release of his sophomore album, MotherFather (out on April 14th via Roya), Petite Noir is sharing the record’s final single, “Play.”
A lighthearted love song, Petite Noir sings about the whirlwind emotions of falling in love over brisk drum breaks and wistful vocal samples. “It’s a song about a playful romance. Going through the ups and downs of love in the fast lane,” he says in a press statement.
Petite Noir created “Play” with producer Dave Sitek of Brooklyn rock band TV on the Radio. The track follows previous singles “Finding Paradise” and “Blurry,” which will all be featured on MotherFather. The artist adds the album is “about going through the darkness. But it’s also about rebirth. Because the dark times are needed for us to grow.”
