#Jim Herman thinks President Trump is golfing good luck charm after Wyndham win

Jim Herman has identified his good luck charm, which just so happens to reside in the White House.

A former assistant golf pro at Trump National Bedminster in New Jersey, Herman played golf with President Donald Trump a few weeks before winning the Wyndham Championship on Sunday. And the 42-year-old is sensing a trend that could help his game.

“I’m very fortunate. I’ve had him in my corner for a long time, one of my biggest fans,” Herman told reporters Saturday after shooting a career-low 61. “Whenever I play with him, I usually have some good finishes. Last two wins I had, played with him either the week or two weeks before. Maybe three weeks is still within reach of his, I guess, little bit of luck for me.”

Herman added to the trend Sunday. He shot a 7-under 63 in the final round to rally past Billy Horschel, who held a four-shot lead over Herman entering the day.

The win punched Herman’s ticket to the FedEx Cup playoffs, starting next weekend with the Northern Trust at TPC Boston.

Before the Wyndham Championship, Herman’s other two PGA Tour wins came at the 2016 Houston Open and the 2019 Barbasol Championship.

“[Trump] has been a big supporter of mine,” Herman said. “I need to play golf with him a little bit more.”
