Every year since 2015 without fail (well, except for 2016), Mac DeMarco has shared a cover of a Christmas standard. We’ve heard “White Christmas,” “Wonderful Christmas Time,” “The Christmas Song,” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” This year, he’s trying on “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” for size, and it’s been released just as the regular Christmas songs are getting a teensy bit played out. Thanks, Mac! The song’s video, streaming above via Pitchfork, stars Mac and an inflatable Santa Claus. It’s surprisingly cozy, all around.
