The 2020 election was approximately 700 years ago, and the inauguration of President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris has finally rolled around. Lady Gaga was selected to perform the National Anthem, and Jennifer Lopez performed “This Land Is Your Land” and “America The Beautiful” with a sprinkle of lyrics from her 1999 single “Let’s Get Loud.” Watch footage of both below.
Gaga wrote about her intention to sing in two tweets posted on Wednesday. “Singing our National Anthem for the American People is my honor… My intention is to acknowledge our past, be healing for our present, and passionate for a future where we work together lovingly.”
