#Noragami Manga Comes To An End After More Than 10 Years

Adachitoka‘s Noragami manga, which began serialization in December 2010, has ended with the release of its final chapter in Monthly Shonen Magazine’s February 2024 issue. The issue was released on January 6 JST.

Last February, it was announced that the 27th and final tankoubon volume of the supernatural action manga was planned for an end of 2023 release. It is now set to launch on February 16 of this year. 

Noragami follows the adventures of the homeless god Yato, the half-ayakashi/half-phantom Hiyori, and the shinki/regalia Yukine, with the former helping various people with the goal of using the earnings to build his own temple. The manga inspired two Bones-produced anime seasons, directed by Josee, the Tiger and the Fish‘s Koutarou Tamura with character designs from Toshihiro Kawamoto (Blood Blockade Battlefront & Beyond and this season’s Metallic Rouge), that aired in 2014 and 2015.

Kodansha USA, which publishes the manga as Noragami: Stray God, describes the plot as:

Yato is a homeless god. He doesn’t even have a shrine, not to mention worshippers! So to achieve his ambitious goals, he’s set up a service to help those in need (for a small fee), hoping he’ll eventually raise enough money to build himself the lavish temple of his dreams. Of course, he can’t afford to be picky, so Yato accepts all kinds of jobs, from finding lost kittens to helping a student overcome bullies at school.

Noragami has also inspired the Noragami: Stray Stories side story series, which Kodansha USA also publishes in English.
