#Watch a Preview of New Beatles Documentary Get Back

Peter Jackson has shared the first look at his new documentary on the making of the Beatles’ 1970 album Let It Be. Originally due out this year, The Beatles: Get Back was delayed due to the pandemic but, as Jackson explains, his native New Zealand has brought COVID-19 under control, so work has now resumed. The video below is not a trailer, he stresses, but a montage of scenes so far collected for the film, set to a rehearsal recording of the movie’s title track. The film is now due out August 27 next year.

The film comes with a new book of the same name—the first official book credited to the band since 2000’s The Beatles Anthology. That’s out August 31, 2021, and features an introduction by Hanif Kureishi.
