#WATATEN! Theatrical Anime Set For 2022 Release

The upcoming new WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me theatrical anime project has received a 2022 release date and visual. Its title is Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita! Precious Friends.

The staff includes the series’ Daisuke Hiramaki as director, Yuka Yamada as scriptwriter, and Hiromi Nakagawa as character designer. Doga Kobo is once again the animation production studio. 

Meanwhile the returning cast includes Reina Ueda as Miyako Hoshino, Maria Sashide as Hana Shirosaki, Rika Nagae as Hinata Hoshino, Akari Kitō as Noa Himesaka, Hitomi Ōwada as Koyori Tanemura, Naomi Ōzora as Kanon Konomori, and Lynn as Kouko Matsumoto.

The WATATEN! series originally premiered in January 2019 and ran for 12 episodes. An OVA was released in November 2019. The anime is based on the manga by Nanatsu Mukunoki, which began in 2016 and has nine tankōbon volumes as of February 2021.

Crunchyroll describes WATATEN! as:

Miyako is a shy college student who is also an otaku. One day she happens to meet some angelic grade school kids! When Miyako sees her little sister’s new friend Hana-chan, Miyako’s heart won’t stop racing! Miyako tries to get along with them but struggles… A sketch comedy all about trying to get along with the super cute girl is about to begin!
