# Wall Street Journal: SEGA nearing deal to acquire Angry Birds developer Rovio

The deal could be sealed by early next week, assuming the talks do not break down or drag out, the people told the publication.
In response to the report, a SEGA representative said, “No formal decision has been made regarding a deal. SEGA continues to consider how to best enhance its corporate value.”
Back in January, Playtika announced a proposal to acquire Rovio Entertainment for approximately $800 million, but those discussions ended in late March without an acquisition.
