#President-elect Joe Biden’s transition website goes live

President-elect Joe Biden moved ahead with plans to enter the White House, the morning after he gave his victory speech in Delaware, on Sunday launching a transition website that outlines the issues his incoming administration will prioritize.

The site, BuildBackBetter.com, carried a headline “Restoring American Leadership,” and lists COVID-19, economic recovery, racial equity and climate change as the top policy challenges facing America.

It will also work on personnel matters to staff the White House and political appointees.

“The transition team is focused on building infrastructure and planning for the next administration. The efforts of the transition focus on determining implementation options for policy, developing management agendas for federal agencies, and selecting personnel to serve in the administration,” it said.

It also includes bios of him and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, and lays out the plans for naming a transition team.

Biden, who takes office on Jan. 20 after being inaugurated, plans to issue a number of executive orders that would reverse President Trump’s actions over his administration’s four years.

The orders will repeal the ban on banning Muslims from many majority-Muslim countries, reinstate the “Dreamers” program that protected immigrants who were brought to the US illegally as children from deportation and rejoin the Paris climate accords and the World Health Organization.

The president-elect also said he would announce the members of a coronavirus task-force on Monday.

Biden was declared the 46th president Saturday after Pennsylvania pushed him past the 270 Electoral College votes necessary to win the White House.

Trump, who has continued to legally challenge the results in a number of states, has yet to concede.
