#Voice Actress Runa Narumi Announces Retirement from Entertainment Business due to Health Issues

The official website for the Tokyo-based voice actor agency Stardust Promotion announced today that 26-year-old voice actress Runa Narumi, who has been taking a break since October 15, 2021 due to her health issues, will be retiring from the entertainment business on December 31, 2021.

 

The site writes, “We are very sorry for the suddenness of this announcement. We would like to express our deepest apologies to her fans and everyone involved for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you very much for all your support and encouragement.” Details of her condition have not been disclosed, and as of this writing, she has posted no comments about her retirement on her official Twitter account. Her last comment was posted on October 3.

 

Runa Narumi was born in Hiroshima Prefecture on November 19, 1995. After graduated from Yoyogi Animation Academy’s voice actor/anime song course in Tokyo, she joined Stardust Promotion. She is best known as Yuika Mitsumine in The [email protected] Shiny Colors game series, and recently played Momoko Kanisawa in the fall 2021 TV anime Platinum End. As reported, she already left the five-member voice actress unit SoundOrion in October 2021. The agency announced on October 15 that she would be taking a break due to her poor health for the time being and that it had become difficult for her to perform as a member of the unit as a result.

 

The official website for The [email protected] Shiny Colors has also confirmed the news, and they are currently in the process of selecting her replacement who will newly voice Yuika Mitsumine. The new cast is scheduled to be announced around February 2022.
