“Voice Actor Soma Saito to Make His Novel Author Debut in September”
Popular voice actor Soma Saito (Yoshikazu Miyano in Sasaki and Miyano, Wein in The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt) appeared as a guest on Fuji TV’s local variety show “Typewriters: The World of Writers” on August 20, and revealed that he had written his first novel.
He previously published two essay collection books – “Kenko de Bunkateki na Seiteigendo no Seikatsu” (A Healthy and Cultural Minimum Standard of Living – October 31, 2018 / KADOKAWA) and “SOMA SAITO Hon ni Matsuwaru Etcetera PHOTO BOOK” (SOMA SAITO Etcetera related to books PHOTO BOOK – January 23, 2019 / Futabasha).
The title of his first novel is “Isana” (literally means little fish or an old name of whale), and it is a short story of 50 pages of 400-character manuscript paper. Saito said in the show, “It is a little strange story” and “Please support me in my acting, music, and writing activities.”
“Isana” will be published in spin, a new all-genre literary magazine published by Kawade Shobo Shinsha as the countdown project for its 140th anniversary. The magazine’s first issue will go on sale at bookstores nationwide on September 27.
