“#Vincent D’Onofrio Wants to Face Off Against Tom Holland’s Spider-Man”
“[I’d like to interact with] all of them. I mean, it’s obvious that Punisher, Daredevil, and Spider-Man are the ones that my character is tied to in the comic books. But there’s plenty of room for others, I can just only hope that that happens. But I mean, Spider-Man definitely. I think that would be really really fun. I want it as much as everybody does, so we’ll see.”
The Kingpin has often come up against Spider-Man in the pages of Marvel Comics, with fans having wanted to see the pair throw fists for some time on the big screen. Thanks to his stellar work in the superb Daredevil series, Vincent D’Onofrio has now been brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe courtesy of Hawkeye … though his fate at the series’ end was left rather ambiguous.
Presuming that Kingpin has survived the events of Hawkeye, and he certainly has the power too, D’Onofrio has big plans for the character, believing that he could become the MCU’s big bad. “I guess that’s up to Marvel and Kevin and the writers,” the actor said. “Do I think he’s capable of being the guy that’s behind everything? In my mind, he always was … I don’t think we’ve begun to explore how interesting Fisk is.”
Marvel Has Not Yet Revealed Their Plans for Spider-Man 4
Since its release, Spider-Man: No Way Home has not only become one of Marvel Studios’ most successful installments, but also one of the most successful movies of all time. Such success practically guarantees a fourth outing, and while Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has confirmed conversations with Sony, we do not yet know whether Tom Holland will return. It also sounds like Tom Holland does not know either.
“The truthful answer, and I’ve done a whole press tour where all I do is lie. The truth is, and you’re not going to like the truth, I don’t know the answer to that question,” Holland said when asked if he would suit up once again. “This film for me was as special as an experience could ever be. Sharing the screen with these guys. Playing Spider-Man could be quite an alienating experience because, you know, we’re the only three blokes who have done it. So, to share that with you two, it’s been such a wonderful experience, of which I have such amazing memories. I don’t know, there’s part of me that feels like it’s the perfect time to jump off the building and swing off into the sunset and let the next lucky young kid come in to don the suit, or I might, I don’t know, buy a new house and need a paycheck and I’ll be back.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home was released in December and is now the sixth-highest-grossing movie of all-time.
