#Vampire Dormitory Previews Ren Nikaido in New Character PV Trailer
A new character PV trailer has been released for the upcoming Vampire Dormitory TV anime series, previewing the misunderstood delinquent Ren Nikaido. The anime is set to air in Japan on April 7, 2024, with Crunchyroll set to stream the show in select English-speaking countries and territories.
Nobuyoshi Nagayama (Ayaka, Smile Down the Runway, Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan) is serving as the director, with Toko Machida (A Playthrough of a Certain Dude’s VRMMO Life, Smile Down the Runway) as screenwriter, and Naomi Tsuruta (NieR:Automata Ver1.1a Episode 7 co-animation director) as character designer. Studio Blanc. is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main cast includes:

- • Yuuichiro Umehara as Ren Nikaido
- • Wataru Hatano as Komori
- • Yuusuke Shirai as Takara Kagurazaka

Ema Toyama’s supernatural romance manga was first launched in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine on November 2, 2018. Thirteen tankobon volumes have been released as of March 2024. The anime adaptation celebrates Nakayoshi’s 70th anniversary in publication and Touyama’s 20th anniversary as a manga artist.
Kodansha USA releases the manga series in English, describing the story as:
“I’ll do it! I’ll become your thrall!” A crossdressing girl and an obsessive vampire find themselves entangled in a dangerous relationship. A heart-pounding BL-esque romance drama from the award-winning Ema Toyama (Missions of Love, Aoba-kun’s Confessions)!
Mito, who has no family to rely on, lives on the streets, disguised as a boy. Ruka, a vampire, saves her from a perilous situation and makes her an offer: become his subservient thrall from which he can feed whenever he wants, and she can live with him — in the boys’ dorm. Because her very existence depends on her secret not being found out, every day is a new danger — to say nothing of that vampire! Meanwhile, Ruka, not knowing Mito’s a girl, dotes on her night and day in an attempt to ripen her “disgusting male blood,” but when real feelings develop… this dangerous romance between a crossdressing girl and an obsessive vampire begins!
