‘Big massive dumps.’

That’s what President Donald Trump, in a phoned-in interview with Fox News on Sunday, said ultimately cost him the 2020 presidential election.

“I was called by the biggest people saying congratulations, political people,” Trump told host Maria Bartiromo in his first interview since Election Day. “It was 10 o’clock and you looked at the numbers, and I’m sure you felt that way: This election was over.”

As for those “dumps,” the president in the interview claimed that some states allowed voters to turn in their ballots after Election Day and that several federal agencies were complicit in an attempt to cover up the widespread fraud. Yet his bid to make the case in court has failed.

Trump appears also to be pursuing a second path to a second term in the White House via a 2024 campaign kickoff coinciding with Joe Biden’s inauguration on the table, the Daily Beast reported, citing three sources. Such a move would seemingly be welcomed by many Republicans, with surveys suggesting the party’s rank and file are still game to hand Trump four more years.

Two-thirds (66%) of Republican voters said they’d support Trump’s running for president again, according to a survey from Seven Letter Insight. And a Politico/Morning Consult poll of 1,990 registered voters conducted Nov. 21–23 found 53% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents for Trump supported the notion.
