An anime adaptation of Kuji Furumiya‘s Unnamed Memory fantasy light novel series has been announced with a 2023 release date. A teaser visual and promotional video, as well as illustrations from the light novels’ illustrator chibi and the manga adaptation’s Naoki Koshimizu, were released as well.

Like the recent Kancolle: Itsuka Ano Umi de anime, Unnamed Memory is directed by Kazuya Miura with character designs from Chika Noumi and animation production by ENGI. Deko Akao (My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex) is serving as series composer while Akito Matsuda (Assault Lily: Bouquet) is the music composer.

Meanwhile, the main cast includes Yoshiki Nakajima as Oscar and Atsumi Tanezaki as Tinasha.

Unnamed Memory was originally a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou that began serialization in 2012. The light novels, published under Kadokawa’s Dengeki no Shinbungei label, began in 2019 and ended in 2021 with six volumes. A sequel titled Unnamed Memory: After the End began earlier this year and will release its second volume on December 16. 

Yen Press, which also licenses the manga adaptation, describes Unnamed Memory as:

“My wish as champion is for you to descend the tower and be my wife.”

Climbing a deadly tower, Oscar seeks the power of its master, the Witch of the Azure
