The official blog for voice actress/singer Megumi Hayashibara (Ranma Saotome in Ranma 1/2, Rei Ayanami in Neon Genesis Evangelion) has posted a two-minute music video for “DENIM,” the lead track from her new best album to celebrate her debut’s 30th-anniversary year, “VINTAGE DENIM.”
The song, written and composed by herself, expresses a sense of nostalgia and warmth by superimposing her life on denim, which develops its flavor over time. In order to make a music video for the song, she invited fans to submit photos of their favorite denim clothes.
In addition to those photos, the video also includes behind-the-scenes footage from the photo sessions for the CD jacket and the special photo book that will come with the single’s first press limited edition. She wears a dress-like outfit made of denim, and 30 of her own denim outfits that she has worn in her live concerts and events.
The album “VINTAGE DENIM” is set to be released in Japan on March 30, 2021, her 54th birthday. A full version music video for “DENIM” will also be posted on the web on the same day.
