Just in time for the theatrical premiere of Dune: Part Two, publisher Insight Editions is dropping a stunning hardcover tome that details the making of director Denis Villeneuve’s new film.

Titled The Art and Soul of Dune: Part Two, the 240-page book features exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and details into the making of Dune: Part Two, with a look at everything from the cinematography to costume design. The book is written by Tanya Lapointe, who is a producer on the new Dune film and was also executive producer on Dune (2021). It also includes new interviews with key cast and crew, including Villeneuve and production designer Patrice Vermette, among others.

Set for release on March 1, The Art and Soul of Dune is available for pre-order now on Amazon for $54 — 10 percent off its list price of $60.

The new book comes on the heels of Dune: Exposures, a coffee table book from actor Josh Brolin (who stars in the franchise) and Dune cinematographer Grieg Fraser.

The 172-page book features intimate captures on set, from black-and-white portraits of Timothee Chalamet and Austin Butler, to stills of Zendaya and the cast in between takes. The never-before-seen photos are accompanied by captions from Brolin, who reveals new secrets and details from the filming of the sci-fi blockbuster.

Publisher Insight Books says Fraser “went beyond standard unit photography and documented the filming process using still photograph on a variety of cameras.” The result: “an electrifying gallery of photographs” that span multiple styles, colors and techniques.
