#Two arrested in fatal shooting of retired Chicago fire lieutenant

Two teens have been arrested in the fatal shooting of a retired fire lieutenant in Chicago earlier this month — a major break in the case, authorities said, though the gunmen remain at large.

Firefighter Dwain Williams, 65, had been gunned down Dec. 3 during an attempted robbery outside a popcorn shop in Chicago.

The two teens — Dwain Johnson and a 15-year-old boy — were arrested this week and have been accused of following Williams’ Jeep in a stolen Ford Fusion, prosecutors said in court Friday, according to the Chicago-Sun Times.

The Chicago Police Department released surveillance video showing Williams walking to his car as two gunmen approach and begin shooting at him. Williams returns fire, but the gunmen run away and flee in the stolen car, video shows.

Cops say the armed suspects who confronted Williams are still on the run. Johnson and the 15-year-old have both been charged with murder.

The firefighter suffered a gunshot wound in the abdomen and was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

William was a 28-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department, and retired from the force two years ago.
