#: Twitter shuts offices in San Francisco, New York again amid COVID spike

Offices had reopened just two weeks ago

Twitter Inc. is shutting its offices in San Francisco and New York again amid a spike in new coronavirus cases.

That comes just two weeks after the social-media company reopened those offices from the pandemic shutdown. A Twitter spokesperson said the moves come “after careful consideration of the CDC’s updated guidelines, and in light of current conditions.” It is also pausing reopening plans for its other offices.

“We’re continuing to closely monitor local conditions and make necessary changes that prioritize the health and safety of our Tweeps,” the Twitter spokesperson said.

has previously said it will allow workers to work remotely on a permanent basis, and had required proof of vaccination for employees returning to the office.
