#Tsuki To Raika To Nosferatu Light Novels About Astronaut Vampire Get Anime For 2021

The Tsuki To Raika To Nosferatu (The Moon, Laika, and Nosferatu) light novels, which follow an astronaut vampire girl, are getting an anime that is set to release in 2021.

A trailer for the anime was released, as were staff and cast details.

The staff includes Akitoshi Yokoyama (Cutie Honey Universe) as director, Keisuke Makino (Tsuki To Raika To Nosferatu light novels) as series composer, Hiromi Katou (ID-0) as character designer, and Yuuji Kaneko (Josee, the Tiger and the Fish) as art director. Arvo Animation is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Megumi Hayashibara as Irina Luminesque, Kouki Uchiyama as Lev Lepes, Satoshi Hino as Mikhail Yashin, Mikako Komatsu as Rosa Plevitskaya, and Hina Kino as Anya Simonyan. (Note: these are not the official romanizations.)

Makino’s Tsuki To Raika To Nosferatu light novels, which feature illustrations by Karei, were published by Gagaga Bunko from 2016 to 2019 and span five volumes. A one-volume manga adaptation published on Kodansha’s Comic Days app was released in 2018.

Tsuki To Raika To Nosferatu is set after a world war that results in the world being split between the Federal Republic of Zilnitra in the east and the United Kingdom of Arnarck in the west. In the east, a plan for a manned flight to space called Miechita is announced. However, there is also a secret plan called Nosferatu, which involves a vampire being sent to space as a preceding test flight for Miechita. As part of Nosferatu, Lev Lepes, a substitute astronaut candidate, is ordered to observe and train Irina Luminesque, who possesses an experimental body.
