“Try this US Open prop pick”

Nick Kyrgios’ stunning summer now takes him into the quarterfinals of the 2022 U.S. Open where he’s a massive favorite over World No. 31 Karen Khachanov.

Kyrgios is now 19-3 since the beginning of Wimbledon and has lost just two of 16 matches during the North American hard-court swing. He’s in the best form of his life.

Khachanov, too, seems to be peaking at the right time after outlasting Pablo Carreno Busta in a five-set classic on Sunday. The 26-year-old Russian won 73 percent of the points on his serve and faced only two break points in the entire match (and lost both), which is a considerable feat against an elite defender like Carreno Busta.

With both players at the height of their powers and serving well, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this match play out similarly to their last encounter at the 2020 Australian Open. Kyrgios won that match, but it lasted five sets and featured four tie-breakers.

We’re likely to see a few tie-breakers on Tuesday and it wouldn’t be a surprise if we get one right out of the gates as these two feel one another out in the opening set.

And while Kyrgios hasn’t dropped an opening set yet in Flushing, there’s a decent chance we see a tie-breaker (which is essentially a coin flip) out of the gates, and that puts some value on Khachanov to grab an early lead at a big number.

The play: Karen Khachanov to win first set +225 (FanDuel)
