#Trump: ‘Suburban housewives’ will vote for me over Joe Biden

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Wednesday said housewives in the suburbs will vote for him over Joe Biden in November because he is trying to roll back low-income housing initiatives.

“The ‘suburban housewife’ will be voting for me. They want safety & are thrilled that I ended the long running program where low income housing would invade their neighborhood,” he tweeted.

Trump claimed the Democratic nominee would reinstall an Obama-era fair housing regulation which aimed to combat segregation in suburbs by conditioning federal funding on local governments providing low-incoming housing and preventing racial bias.

“Biden would reinstall it, in a bigger form, with Corey [sic] Booker in charge!,” he continued Wednesday, referring to the New Jersey senator.

Last month, the president scrapped the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing provision of the 1968 Fair Housing Act, a move he said would protect property values in the suburbs.

He shared a Post op-ed criticizing Biden’s plan for housing, and tweeted: “The Suburban Housewives of America must read this article. Biden will destroy your neighborhood and your American Dream. I will preserve it, and make it even better!”

Women in the suburbs are considered a key voting block in this year’s presidential election and recent polls show Biden leading with this group.
