President Trump took shots at his former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, whose tell-all book about his time with the president is hitting bookstores Tuesday, and CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Trump’s tweet linked to a purportedly secretly recorded conversation in which Chris Cuomo denied sexual misconduct to Cohen that was obtained and played on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson’s show last week

“Fredo’s got a convicted lier [sic] for a lawyer, who may be going back to jail for an even longer time – additional lies to Congress. Many more tapes of him with Fredo and other media scum reporters. Reveals how deranged & sick they all are!,” Trump said in the Tuesday tweet, using his favorite nickname to refer to the younger Cuomo.

In the recording, Cuomo is speaking to Cohen, Trump’s former fixer, discussing reporters who have been contacting his former employer, ABC News, to see if women have made sexual allegations against him.

“You know, I’m always careful when I talk to media. Do you know how many f— phone calls I’ve gotten from people at ABC who say that reporters are calling and lying about things they’ve heard about me, to try to get stories about me when I was at ABC,” Cuomo says.

After the recording surfaced, Trump last Wednesday called on CNN to fire Cuomo.

“Will Fredo be fired by Fake News @CNN?” Trump asked, once again referring to Fredo Corleone, the ineffectual middle son character in “The Godfather.”

“He speaks with great disrespect about women, and it will only get worse. Fredo’s Ratings are bad, so this is the time. Always terrible to speak to sleazebags, especially when you are being recorded. CNN has no choice, Fredo must go!” Trump continued.

Cohen accused Trump of trying to discredit him and his book, “Disloyal: A Memoir.”

“The only people in possession of these recordings are me, @DOJ, @POTUS & Trump Org. I did not give this recording or authorization for its use to @FoxNews or anyone,” Cohen said on Twitter.

Cohen, who once said he’s taken a bullet for Trump, was sentenced to three years in federal prison for tax evasion, making false statements and campaign violations.

He’s serving the remains of his sentence at his New York home after being released from prison because of concerns about coronavirus.

Cuomo joined CNN in 2013 after 13 years with ABC.
