#Trump slams Biden on joint address, ‘out of control’ border crisis

Former President Donald Trump did not hold back Thursday morning, slamming President Biden’s first joint address to Congress and the state of the nation under his leadership.

Speaking to Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria,” the 45th president went after his successor for not acknowledging the Trump administration’s accomplishments on issues ranging from police reform to COVID vaccines during his Wednesday night speech, adding that he is “100 percent” considering a 2024 run.

The former president began by going after the joint address, noting how he thought it was wrong of Biden to gloss over the migrant crisis overwhelming authorities at the southern border.

“Well, one thing is that he didn’t discuss the border, and the fact that tens of thousands of people are pouring into our country, many of them criminals, many of them people from jails,” Trump began, going on to say that migrants were coming to the US under the new administration “at a level that’s never been seen before.”

The “out of control” crisis, as Trump characterized it, “will destroy our country,” he warned, going on to accuse Biden of “doing absolutely nothing” to address it.

Asked about the vaccines — which Biden neglected to credit Operation Warp Speed and Trump for bringing into existence — the former president called his successor and his administration “ungracious,” adding that he is “the father of the vaccine.”

“It’s ridiculous. Obviously they’re very ungracious people. I did the vaccine. They like to take the vaccine. But even the fake news isn’t giving them credit for that. We did the vaccine, saved tens of millions of lives throughout the world by coming up with a vaccine,” Trump said.

“If I weren’t president…you wouldn’t have a vaccine for five years, three to five years would be the minimum. I got it done in less than nine months. And that’s only because of me.”

“We had a great delivery system,” he added, “All they did is take what we had and keep it moving.”

He also slammed the Food & Drug Administration’s decision to temporarily pause the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, alleging that the move would only increase vaccine hesitancy and possibly benefit Pfizer.

“They blew it with Johnson & Johnson. They should have never done a pause with Johnson & Johnson. That was done for either political reasons or because they like Pfizer so much. They want everybody to get a vaccine and then they do a pause, which got so much publicity,” he argued.

Keeping his focus on the vaccines, Trump noted that, “I guess in a certain way, I’m the father of the vaccine because I was the one that pushed it. To get it done in less than nine months was a miracle.”

The 45th president also turned his criticism to Vice President Harris and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for wearing masks while social distancing after being vaccinated.

“It looked like they were choking last night while he was speaking,” he joked, “I watched and I said they ought to get some air. Nancy [Pelosi’s] mask was the biggest mask I think I’ve ever seen.”

“They love those masks,” he continued, referring to Democrats.

Given how unimpressed he was with Democrats’ governing, he reiterated that he was “100 percent” considering a 2024 White House bid.

“Yes, 100 percent,” he replied when asked if he was mulling another run for the presidency, adding, “And the polls show that everybody wants me to do it. One hundred percent I’m thinking about running, and we will, I think, be very successful.”
