#Trump praises CNN for covering most of 2020 RNC

President Trump on Tuesday praised CNN for its coverage of the Republican National Convention, saying it was “good for the country.”

“Very appreciative that @CNN covered the vast majority of the Republican Convention last night. That was really good for CNN, while at the same time being good for our Country,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Thank you!”

The president on Monday blasted CNN for cutting away from the roll call vote that nominated him to a second term.

He told the delegates in a surprise appearance at the RNC on Monday that while heading to Charlotte aboard Air Force One, which has “more televisions than any plane in history,” he turned to CNN and “they didn’t have this. Can you believe it? They didn’t have it. CNN didn’t have our roll call.”

CNN also cut away from Trump’s remarks at the RNC as anchor Anderson Cooper described the speech as the “most recent greatest hits and false statements.”

The president has often clashed with CNN and its reporters during his first term.

After a heated exchange between Trump and CNN reporter Jim Acosta in 2018, Acosta’s White House press pass was temporarily revoked.

The president has also blasted CNN’s ratings, called the programming “unwatchable” and said it means “Clinton News Network.”

The RNC kicked off Monday evening with a variety of speakers, including Donald Trump Jr., former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott and former NFL star Herschel Walker, among many others.
