#Trump, Kayleigh McEnany rip Nancy Pelosi over hair salon debacle

President Trump on Thursday went off on Nancy Pelosi’s claims she was “set up” at a San Francisco hair salon — as his press secretary laced into the House speaker while repeatedly playing the video that kicked off the fiasco.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi said she was ‘set up’ by the beauty parlor owner when she improperly had the salon opened (and didn’t wear a MASK!),” Trump tweeted. “Does anyone want a Speaker of the House who can be so easily SET UP?”

The president’s post was contemporaneous to White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s press briefing with reporters, which she played the video of a mask-less Pelosi at eSalon on a loop.

Apparently, the rules do not apply to Speaker Nancy Pelosi,” said McEnany. “She wants small businesses to stay shut down but only reopen for her convenience.”

She added, “‘Do as I say, not as I do,’ says Nancy Pelosi.”

McEnany then attacked Pelosi on the stalled coronavirus relief package.

“Nancy Pelosi is holding up $1.3 trillion in relief for the American people while getting special access to the very kind of small businesses this money would support — businesses like this hair salon.”

Pelosi got her hair done inside eSalon on Monday — even though California salons are only currently allowed to conduct business outdoors.

Video leaked to Fox News shows the California Democrat, whose district encompasses San Francisco, walking through the shop without a mask on.

She claimed she was “set up” by salon owner Erica Kious, and demanded an apology from her — a move McEnany ripped on Thursday.

“Nancy Pelosi is demanding an apology from a single mother and small business owner who has received threats since Nancy Pelosi’s comments against her salon,” McEnany said.

Kious said she’s received death threats and messages from people threatening to burn down her salon in wake of Pelosi’s comments. She’s denied releasing the video for political reasons.

“Nancy Pelosi, you ought to apologize to the American people,” McEnany continued, “or better yet come back to Washington and get to work for hardworking Americans like this salon owner who you maligned and demanded an apology from.”

Trump followed up in a later tweet, writing, “Maybe the Beauty Parlor owner should be running the House of Representatives instead of Crazy Nancy?”
